CAST PORTFOLIO ANSWERS TWO STRAIGHTFORWARD QUESTIONS ABOUT CANADIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL EDUCATION:

WHAT CAN HIGH SCHOOL
IN ONTARIO BECOME,

AND HOW MUCH CAN INNOVATIVE TEACHING ACCOMPLISH IF IT ASPIRES TO BE SYSTEMICALLY TRANSFORMATIVE?

CaST Portfolio is a university model for what high school can be, integrating the work of multiple, independently operated for-profit, non-profit and charitable organizations into a unified whole supportive of advanced teaching and learning for high school students. Collectively, Portfolio affiliates CaST Public Arts, CaST Center for BioInformatics Research and CaST Earth encircle CaST School, bolstering its mission-driven purpose to deliver a Ministry-approved Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) curriculum through superlative teaching. It is as if a university, composed of multiple small colleges each offering a different set of courses and research opportunities, were designed for grades 9-12 students.

CaST secondary school, therefore, as we grow and expand, is in the process of evolving into a university for high school students who love to learn, and who seek to learn differently.
